Phyllis Marie Reynolds

Funeral services for Phyllis Marie Reynolds, 84, rural Lawrence, will be at 2 pm Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with Terry Jacobsen officiating, Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Reynolds died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Lawrence, the daughter of Orville C. and Leona K. Tuckel Flory. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School, where she was a marksman on the Rifle Club squad, and later attended business school. Phyllis worked in human relations at Farmland Industries for more than 30 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed extensive traveling both domestically and abroad, including all 50 states and Europe. She was a very generous person, and enjoyed opening her home and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed golf, tennis, cooking, collecting teddy bears, and playing bridge.

Phyllis married Donald R. Reynolds on Dec. 16, 1951, in Lawrence. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Janet Marie Price, Lawrence; a son, Michael Roy Reynolds and wife Barbara, Lawrence; a brother, Dale Flory and wife Claudia, Lawrence; grandchildren Jessica Marie Mooney (Wade), Penny Candrilli (Joe), and Heath Morris; and great grandchildren Caitlin Mooney and Kyla Candrilli. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 9 am to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, or the VFW Post 852, Lawrence, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
