My prayers are with the Ward family today, tomorrow and in the future. If my memory serves me correctly, Devin and I became friends through music back in the early 80s before we left Ottawa for Denver in early 1985. I believe it was Devin who bought my Les Paul while he was still in high school. Great memories. Devin was and is as cool as cool can be.

I’ll never forget the warmth of Devin’s personality when we first met. His first words to me we’re spoken in a manner as if we’d been friends for years and were just picking up again where we’d left off. I’ve been inspired by his art as a fan for years and humbled on a personal level by the unbending strength and positive approach he exhibited in the face of his recent battles. It’s been many years since we spoke face to face but I can say without a waiver of doubt that my life has been, and will continue to be, enriched by Devin’s contributions and example. Rest easy my friend.

When Devin and the band came to Charlotte he was always fun to be around. Being the Mom of Dee Clayton when she and her then husband Jeff hosted them my husband Don and I always made it a point to come over and see them all when they were in town. Devin always treated us with respect yet was fun and silly. My condolences to the whole family and all his many friends who will miss him.
