Memorial services for Alex James Lindsey, 46, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Clinton Cemetery. Alex died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1966, in Lawrence, the son of Ronald H. and Cheryl L. Robson Lindsey. He graduated from Eudora High School, and later attended Kansas State University. Alex was employed in commercial shipping with UPS and FedEx for many years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas State Wildcats fan. He enjoyed gardening.
He married Cherrie Ann Lawrence. They later divorced. Survivors include two daughters, Natalie and RyLee, both of Wamego; his mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Larry Evilsizor, Lecompton; a brother, Ron (Nino) Lindsey and wife Kristi, DeSoto; his paternal grandmother, Mildred Lindsey, Eudora; two step brothers, Mark Evilsizor and wife Jodi, Lawrence, and Billy Evilsizor and wife Kristi, Baldwin City; two step sisters, Laura (Lollie) Cook, Baldwin City, and Karen Liebig, Gardner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald H. Lindsey, and his paternal grandfather, James H. Lindsey.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. (Come in the main entrance and veer to the right.) Memorial contributions are suggested to Harvesters – The Community Food Network, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
