Leota Jane Hyer See, a long time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away April 25, 2014 in Lawrence, Kansas.
Born October 9, 1928, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Bernice and Dr. Josheua V. Hyer. She attended schools in Cheyenne and Garber where she graduated from high school.
She married Robert M. See in 1946 and they raised four sons in Ponca City where she was a homemaker, talented seamstress, and master gardener. Leota was active in local, district, and state level garden clubs and served as an officer in the organizations.
Known to family and friends as “Bugs”, she moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 2010.
Leota was preceded in death by her husband who died in 2007, as well as her parents, brother Bob Vernon Hyer, and son James Richard. She is survived by three sons, Robert Daniel See of Wichita, Kansas, Delbert Earl See of Lawrence, Kansas, William W. (Bill) See and his wife Sandy, and grandchildren Alison See and Ben See, all of Norman, Oklahoma.
The family extends gratitude to the staff at Bridgehaven Memory Care as well as to Grace Hospice in Lawrence, Kansas.
