Lois A. Reeves

Lois A. Reeves (68) died Thursday May 8th at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center where she had been residing following a long residence in Lawrence. Lois was born in Lawrence June 25, 1945, and she graduated from Lawrence High School in 1963. Her parents were Edward C. Beal and Eva J. Beal Garrett. Lois’s older brother, Roger J. Beal, of Riverdale, UT died in 2009. Lois lived in Corpus Christi, TX from 1949 until 1961. She married David P. Truhe, and they had two children, Suzanne Marie (1968-2013), and her younger brother John D. Truhe (44) while living in Osawatomie, KS. Lois later worked in food service in Lawrence, and married Edward Lee Reeves, Jr. in 1990. Lois greatly enjoyed a wide variety of music. She was prolific and generous with her crochet projects, and had a rich sense of humor. She also cared deeply for her cockatiel, Sammy (30). Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lawrence. Rev. Matt Sturtevant will conduct a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery 11:00 Friday May 16th.

Memorials may be made to the Lois Reeves Fund, it will be for a grave marker and sent in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana, Lawrence, KS 66044
