James Thomas Arthur died on May 8, 2015, in Wichita, Kansas. He was a resident of Wichita most of his adult life.
He was born Aug. 27, 1925, to Charles S. Arthur and Anna Pearson Arthur who both predeceased him. His three brothers, Charles S. Arthur Jr., William J. Arthur, and Wade H. Arthur also predeceased him. He was never married and had no children.
James graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence and the University of Kansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Boeing and Beechcraft Manufacturing companies in Wichita. He then worked as a real estate broker for many years.
He is survived by six nieces and nephews, Charles S. Arthur III, Robert Bowen Arthur, Cynthia Ann Sheern, Thomas Pearson Arthur, Deborah Louise Heidorn, and Vance E. Arthur, and a great nephew and niece, Brett Arthur and Laura Bieller.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 10 am, with the Rev. Don Ogden officiating.
Hello, I have fond memories of my visits with Jim. I last saw him at my sister Ruth’s memorial services in 1991. You can be proud of your Uncle Jim. He was a fine man and a devoted friend of my sister, Ruth.
