The voice of Kansas Rock ‘n Roll has died. He will be long remembered. I was honored to be his friend. I miss him.
Rest in Peace my friend. Thanks for the Eric and the Norsman CD’s. I’m still enjoying them. Class of 65.
“Mister Lee, Mister Lee, Mister Lee-ee-ee!” the jingle used to play when Bill would begin his radio show on KLWN. Gosh that seems like forever ago now. The stations were at 31st & Iowa where People’s Bank and Aldi are now. Can we have just a little fun in memory here? I remember once during his overnight shift, Bill fell asleep at the controls and the end of the record was going “scratch, scratch, scratch,” and a listener called the police, who went to the station and saw him through the window, leaned back in his chair. He woke up, and the show resumed 😉 And I remember his bit part as an “extra” in “The Day After,” pushing a grocery cart across a parking lot.
R.I.P. Mister Lee, and my condolences to all the hundreds of Lees and Bartas (well, maybe not quite hundreds-but lots!)
To the family, we are very sorry of your loss. Our prays and thoughts are with all of you.
He will missed by many! Bill was always an interesting member of the 65 Neodesha High School Class.Warm thoughts of his family that he was so proud of. And who will correct our English on FB now?

I will miss my old friend. I going to play some rock music and I am going to play it loud!
I will miss Bill a lot. I loved talking with him about the band’s of the late 60’s & early u0’s. He was very knowledgeable. He was a good friend.
I knew Bill for several decades. As a musician, music writer and the man behind the counter at Kief’s we had many good conversations about music and life. I am very sad to hear he’s gone. I will remember his good humor, passion and love of music. Condolences to all the family.
