Lorene B. Kring

A visitation for Lorene B. Kring, 102, Lawrence, will be from 1 to 3 pm Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation will follow, and private family inurnment will be at a later date at Sutton Cemetery in rural Douglas County.

Lorene Kring, age 102, peacefully passed away on Wednesday evening, October 18th at Brewster Place in Topeka, Kansas.  A life-long Kansan, she was born on Christmas Eve, 1914 in rural Labette County, Kansas.  Please seehttp://www.suttoncemetery.org/lorene-kring/biography.html for a story of Lorene’s life as written by one of her grandchildren.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James M. “Jiggs” Kring.  She is survived by her 5 children:  Jim Kring (Donna) of Topeka, Lynn Kring (Debbie) of Mission, Kansas, Deanna Riley of Longmont, Colorado, Twyla Long (Wayne) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Camille Dalager (Kris) of Lawrence, along with 23 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren. Her first great-great-grandchild will arrive shortly after her passing.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Sutton Cemetery Association, Baldwin City, Kansas.

To the whole family I am sending you the most sincere of thoughts for the loss of a lady that I got to know in the 23 years we have lived next to Kris and Camille. I am happy that she got to live such a long happy life with so many great people in her life. I hope for peace for her and I hope you all know she was well loved.
