Memorial services for Charlotte Fewel Montgomery, 71, Lawrence, will be 11am Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Ms. Montgomery died January 26, 2022, at Medicalodges Eudora.
She was born February 24, 1950, in Lawrence, the daughter of Ivan Thomas and Betty Marie Stevens Gibler. She attended Vinland grade school and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1968. She attended Plymouth Congregational Church.
She was a caregiver by nature. She enjoyed raising her children and taking care of others.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelsey Dick and husband Tyler of Pomona; sons, Keeler Montgomery and wife Shannon of Bend, OR, Tremayne Baker of Lawrence, Santino Baker of Lawrence; and granddaughter, Adalyn Dick of Pomona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Fewel; sister, Mona Fleeger; and brother, Edward Gibler.
The family will receive friends from 10-11am Friday, before the memorial service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lawrence Sunshine Foundation, sent in care of the funeral home.
Kelsey and Keeler, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time with the loss of your beloved mother. Charlotte was such a thoughtful and caring person. I never saw her without her lovely smile on her face and never heard her say anything negative. She was always a ray of sunshine. Both of you have your mother’s happy smile! Know that she will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Charlotte’s passing. I knew her since she was about 16 years old. A good friend, coworker, and possessed a style unique to her alone. RIP lady.
To all the Kids & the GIBLER Family, we are so sorry to hear of Charlottes passing… She was a good & friendly neighbor for ALL of about 25+ years… We all had MANY fun & spontaneous visits & CHIT CHATS back & forth across the street over the years & sometimes even as I was over there on a few occasions to fix or rebuild something for her… She will be missed I know by ALL… DAVE & JEAN AFFALTER
Charlotte was the most incredible, down to earth, humbled and the most sweetest woman ever she was a dear friend to my grandma and we both will miss her terribly sending my condolences to Charlotte’s family and friends at this difficult time
