Barbara May Chang

No public services are planned at this time for Barbara May Chang, 72, Lawrence, who passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, at The Windsor of Lawrence.

She was born May 13, 1950, in Aurora, Mo., the daughter of Joe and Mary Satnes Swadley. She graduated from high school and later served her country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

She married Edward Kuwn-chir Chang on Sept. 19, 1977, in Independence, Mo. He preceded her in death, as did her parents and three sisters, Frances Ann Davis, Martha Alice Majors and Margaret Joe Parker. Survivors include two children, Victoria Lowe, Lawrence, and Alexander Chang, Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, Richard Swadley, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and a granddaughter, Emma Mei Lowe.
