Memorial services for Shelby Len McCoy, 52, Lawrence, will be 2 pm, Monday, August 8, 2022, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
He died July 31, 2022, at the University of Kansas Hospital.
Shelby was born August 18, 1969, the son of Donald Wayne McCoy and Judith Irene Shirk Mayes.
He is survived by his Mom and Pops Judy and Larry Mayes, brothers; Mitch and Chuck McCoy, sister; Trina Medine, children; Christian McCoy and Brandy Jeposon and 4 grandchildren, one sister in-law, one brother in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Shelby was one of the first people I met in Lawrence, as well as my roommate at 733 New Jersey st. I made him my brother I never had. I am so sorry this has happened.

My deepest sympathies. I had much love and respect for Shelby, he was always looking out for us, was so kind and selfless. Nobodies family deserves to go through this, I’m so very sorry yours is.
