Dear Rose Marie,
My wife and I are so sorry for your loss. Glen was a true positive influence on our life. I worked at Hillcrest Hardware for three years while at KU. Glen was a mentor, and I still use the valuable lessons learned to this day at age 77. I can still fix my lawn equipment and repair most of the yard watering problems at my house and within the HOA. We will never forget the part you and your family played in our lives.
Glen was a very giving and caring man. He provided me the opportunity, knowledge, and problem solving mindset for engines that have paid dividends for a long time.
Much love to you, Rose. You were truly blessed with one endearing husband. I too have been blessed to have met you two through business, only to become the best of friends! How fortunate I am to have experienced the gift of you and Hildy in my world!
Godspeed for comfort and healing as you traverse the difficult journey forward.
Glen was a mentor for our oldest son, Jay, at his Hillcrest hardware store. He taught Jay about repairing lawnmowers and Jay has used that knowledge to this day in repairing all sorts of engines. It’s been a wonderful avocation for Jay.
Glen was a kind and generous man
and had a definite positive impact on Jay’s life. Thank you, Glen.
Rose Marie,
So sorry to hear about Glen. He was a friend ,gentleman, and businessman. So glad I ran in to you at Ace Hardware on 6th Street a year or two ago and surprised you moved back from Florida. He was blessed with a long life. RIP Glenn
I talked with Glen when he was in the Habitat Restore recently. Glad to talk about our experiences with building Habitat houses. He is a great person and I remember him fondly!
What a joy it was to chat with Glen and Rose every Thursday at bridge. Their playfulness was a delight. No wonder we all looked forward to their arrival and to our chance to play at their table. We will all be a little poorer without his kind smile in our lives.
I looked forward to seeing Glen and Rose at the Kaw Valley Bridge Club every Thursday morning. He was such a gentleman and his love for his sweet wife, Rose was so evident. I will miss this dear man and seeing Rose at the bridge center. Laurie Bottenfield
I have known Glen and Rose for 50 yrs. Glen was a great neighbor when they lived on Stratford. He was always willing to help me when I couldn’t figure out to fix something. He was generous and kind and adored Rose. I will miss him. I would love to have a visit with Rose but not sure what her plans for the future are.
