Mona passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 24th, 2024 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil Jr. & Charolette Louise (Nightengale) Trybom, her older sister Rhonda (Nightengale) Helm, and her step-brother Jimmy Kuester. She is survived by her Step Mother Jeanette (Stoebener) Trybom, her brother Emil (Jake) Trybom, her son Justin Wilks, her Grandsons Justus and Anthony Wilks.

Mona was born April 3rd, 1964 in Lawrence Ks. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence KS, and attended Lawrence High School. She was employed at Maximus in Lawrence KS, she took great pride in being able to assist people with their Medicare needs. She married Ricky Wilks but they later divorced. Of that union came her pride and joy, their son Justin.

She had a heart as big as the world, and a smile that could brighten any room. She had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. She always had a great love for family and animals of any kind. When she was a child she would always bring home some stray she found. She was a true Chiefs fan and loved to watch them play. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her boys.

She was the best daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend anyone could ever ask for. She leaves behind a void in our hearts and will be sadly missed.

The family suggest memorials to Rumsey-Yost as help offsetting funeral expenses.
