Services for Kenneth Earl Martin, 93, Baldwin City, will be at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Kenneth died Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Marshfield, Wisconsin.
He was born September 2, 1932, the sixth of twelve children born to Wilson and Christiana Martin in Welda, KS in Anderson County. He graduated valedictorian from Welda High School in 1950. He went on scholarship to a local college and then transferred to K.U. graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1956.
He married Freida J. Martin, of Lawrence, on Sept. 5, 1956. They were married 64 years before her passing in August 2021 at the age of 88. He was drafted into the Army and served 1957 to 1959. He was stationed in Colorado and Abilene, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freida, all four of his brothers, three of his seven sisters, and a grandson, Nicholas, Minnesota.
Survivors include four sisters, Ella Thacker, Lecompton, Elsie Menefee, Wichita, Marietta Martin, Wichita, and Sarah, Dallas, Texas. Three children: Otto Martin (Lisa), Lawrence, Anita, Ramsey, MN, Kendra, Baldwin City. Grandchildren: Megan Judd (Chris), Cinn., OH, David, Lawrence and Brandon Martin (Cassie), Minnesota.
