In 1998, Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home installed the first and only crematory in Lawrence. Four of our funeral directors are certified crematory operators with the Cremation Association of North America.
Services Available
- Optional services or ceremonies may precede or follow the cremation.
- Some individuals prefer to have a visitation with the casketed body present, prior to the cremation.
- If direct cremation is planned, a service or ceremony may be conducted following the cremation.
Cremation Packages
Cremation with Chapel or Church Funeral Service
Includes: Transfer of the deceased to the funeral home, embalming, dressing, cosmetizing and placement in casket. It includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, use of facilities and staff for visitation and funeral ceremony at our chapel or other facility, followed by cremation. Use of the Removal Car, Funeral Coach and Service Utility Vehicle is included along with the crematory fee.
Cremation with Chapel or Church Memorial Service
Includes: Transfer of the deceased to the funeral home, preparation of the deceased for identification and cremation. It includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, use of facilities and staff for memorial service. Use of the Removal Car, and Service Utility Vehicle is included along with cremation.
Direct Cremation – No Services
Includes: Transfer of the deceased to the funeral home and preparation of the deceased for identification and cremation. It includes basic services of the funeral director and staff. Use of the Service Utility Vehicle is included along with the cremation.
