No services are planned for Donald Mac Owens, 70, of Lawrence. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Owens died Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Midland Care Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born January 23, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, to James William and Mamie Anne Cook Owens. He attended school through the 10th grade and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 12 years.
After his career in the Navy, Mr. Owens worked as a boiler operator at the Hercules Ammunition Plant. He was a member of Family Church of Lawrence, and loved fishing, traveling, and watching western movies.
He married Diana Mae Carter, December 26, 1981 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a brother, Pete Owens of Ozark, Missouri and a sister, Ruby Agee of Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxine Cimino, Elma Walker, Lucille Wheeler, Gerry Best, Thelma Doig, and Fern Richardson; as well as one brother, James Owens.
