A Celebration of Life visitation for Irma Faye Fine, 90, Baldwin City, will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial is scheduled for 11 am Monday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mrs. Fine died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab in Baldwin City.
She was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Baldwin City, the daughter of Elmer W. and Jennie Johnson Hallmark. She graduated from Wellsville High School. Irma began working at Allen Press, and later worked in printing services at the University of Kansas for more than 20 years. She was a founding member of the Assembly of God Church in Baldwin City, and an active member of the Salvation Army Women’s Ministry Group in Lawrence. Irma enjoyed reading.
She married Jack Eugene Fine. He preceded her in death, as did her parents, a son, Howard Davenport Jr., a daughter, Glenda Bowlby, a step son, Warren Fine, and a brother, Leslie Hallmark.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Taylor, Lawrence, and Becky Jo Rich and husband Larry, Hartford; two sons, Jay Hamilton Fine and wife Sherry, Wichita, and Richard Davenport, Louisburg; a step daughter, Rita Fine, Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hallmark, McAllen, Tex.; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
