Celebration of life for Jacqueline Russell, 77, Lawrence, will be 10 am, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 1 pm, Monday, July 18, 2022, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
Jackie passed away on July 10, 2022, at her sister’s home in Topeka.
She was born March 16, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Eleanor Botelho. She graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu. Jackie was a homemaker and was talented in many ways, especially enjoying flowers, art, painting, traveling, and genealogy. She was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.
She married Russel George Russell on October 22, 1963, in Honolulu. He preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Russell, Lawrence, and Laura Blevins, Hollister, Mo.; two siblings, Toni Nelson and husband Vernon, Topeka, and Winnie Botelho, Honolulu; six grandchildren, Heather and Bethanie Russell, Holden Oglesby, and Cody, Morgan, and McKenna Blevins; six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lawrence Humane Society, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66046.
