James R. ‘Bud’ Banks

James Ralph (Bud/Buddy) Banks passed away at home on 8/30/2016. He
was born June 22, 1929 in Lecompton Township, the son of Herman &
Rebecca (Miller) Banks. He married Rosalie Rogers in May 1957. She
survives of the home. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Becky (Danny)
Downs, Rhonda Banks, Gina (Scot) Clement, 1 son James Jr. 6
grandchildren; Elizabeth (Scott) Bure, Christina (Omar) El Jazouli,
David (Heather) Pekrul, Steven Pekrul, Samantha Clement, Julie
Clement, 1 step granddaughter Brittany (Eric) Sedam, 1
step-great-grandson Jacob Downs, brother-in-law Norman Daniels, 6
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen and
brother-in-law Harold Crady, and sister Elaine Daniels.

Bud was a member of Lecompton United Methodist Church where he taught
Sunday School for many years. He belonged to the Lecompton Historical
Society and served as Lecompton Township Treasurer for several years
He farmed with his father, served his country in the Air Force, worked
for Penny’s Rock Inc., and retired from FMC Corp. after 36 years.

Closed casket visitation will be at 10-10:45 am on Saturday, September
3, 2016 at Lecompton UMC. Services will follow at 11:00. Interment will be
