Larry Leonard Walker

Funeral services for Larry Leonard Walker will be at 2 pm Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. A visitation will follow the service.

Larry Leonard Walker was born to Leonard and Viola Walker on December 4, 1939, in Lawrence, KS. He departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on September 8, 2017.

He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1957. On October 27, 1963, he married Cindy Lou Walenta of Belleville, KS. He was a store manager in retails stores, such as Alco, Duckwall, Gibson’s, Pamida, and TSC until the late 1980’s. In 1987, he purchased the Dari Ring in Baldwin City, KS. He was the owner for over 10 years. Following that, he was the custodian at Wakarusa Valley School in Lawrence, KS and working part time at Walmart in Lawrence, KS. He retired from Lawrence Public Schools in April, 2008, and retired from Walmart a couple years later.

Larry loved listening to music and planting flowers in his yard. He liked art and was very knowledgeable in the business world. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Cindy, two daughters, Bethany Lasher of McLouth, KS, and Sheera Kennedy of Edgerton, KS, and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Viola Walker, his stepmother, Violet Walker and a daughter, Beth Ann.

Marvin “Larry” Walker

Marvin “Larry” Walker, 65, died peacefully at his home in Galena, KS, on Thursday August 8th 2013. Larry was born February 27th 1948, in Okalahoma.

Larry lived in Lawrence, Kansas most of his life before moving to Galena, KS, about 7 Years ago.

Larry was preceeded in death by his father, Marion Walker, his mother Ada Walker, and his sister Jewell Garcia. Survivors include, his wife Rhonda Singleton Walker of Galena, KS, His daughters Cammy Foster of Texas, Tammy Walker of Lawrence, Sabrina Walker of Perry, and his sister Sue Ireland of Perry.
