Services for Mary Katherine Lynch, 90, Lawrence, are pending at this time.
Mrs. Lynch died Monday, February 16, 2015 at her home.
She was born March 13, 1924 in Lawrence, the daughter of Solon J. and Mildred K. Longnecker Markley. Mary graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1942, and went on to attend the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Lynch worked at Weavers department store for 3 years as a telephone operator, at Sunflower ORD Works for 7 ½ years as a receptionist, and retiring from Farmland Industries after 26 years as a PBA Operator.
She married Howard Ellsworth Lynch, June 16, 1946 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2015.
She moved to Rio Grande Valley in 1986 at the Winter Ranch Retirement Park where she worked with music programs and played for church services. She moved to Southern Comfort Resort Park in 1990 working as the chapel organist, as well as accompanist for the Southern Comfort chorus. She moved back to Lawrence in 2003.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed music and flowers.
She is survived by sons, Galen Lynch of Canadian, Texas, and Ronald Lynch of Lawrence, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
A son, Jerrald Lynch preceded her in death in May of 2012, and a brother William S. Markley in May of 2010.
