Maurice Myers Dressler

DresslerA Celebration of Life for Maurice Myers Dressler, 93, Baldwin City, will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Worden United Methodist Church, with Pastor Changsu Kim, Roger Dressler, and J.D. Dressler officiating. Burial will be at approximately 3:30 pm at Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kan. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Worden United Methodist Church. Mr. Dressler passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab.

He was born June 27, 1923, in Iola, the son of Perl Clyde and Myrtle Fern Myers Dressler. He graduated from Iola High School in 1942, and later served in the United States Army during World War II. He owned and operated H & D Motor Service for many years. He also worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and a Ford dealership.

Maurice married Helen Louise Howard on Sept. 1, 1942, in Chanute. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2014. Survivors include three sons, Maurice H. ‘Moe’ Dressler and wife Fran, Jacksonville, Fla. Roger Dressler and wife Norma, Baldwin City, and Truman Dale Dressler, Baldwin City; grandchildren Daryl (Mary) Dressler, Teri Dressler, and Tina (Frank) Selvera, Lori (Dennis) Lederer, J.D. (Stacey) Dressler, Rusty (Sharla) Dressler, and Kelly (Mike) Wintermantel; great grandchildren Zachary, Mallory, Emma, and Isabella Selvera, Chelsea Lederer, Whitney (Chris) Brubaker, Johnny Lederer, Macie, Miles, and Millie Dressler, Chase, Kalen, Kelby, and Kynlee Dressler; and Clayton, Carter, and Caden Wintermantel; and two great great granddaughters, Lane and Lacy.
