Services for Robert “Bob” Gene Taylor, 80, Lawrence, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Mr. Taylor died Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab. in Baldwin City, Kansas.
He was born October 12, 1933 in Lawrence. He lived most of his life in Lawrence and California.
He worked various places over the years, Ray Stoneback’s, Joe’s Bakery, and retired from the University of Kansas as a maintenance supervisor after 40 years of service.
He was a faithful follower of Christ, a soldier (volunteer) for the Salvation Army, and member of Praise Temple Church. He enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, car clubs, watching his wife bowl and shopping with her a well.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Taylor of the home; daughter, Kay Jackson-Taylor of Topeka, KS; sisters, Barbara Dixon of Omaha, NE, Lena Dixon of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Taylor, Jr.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
