Rudolph G. Domyon, formerly of Leawood, Kansas and Clifton, New Jersey, passed away in Lawrence, Kansas on November 9, 2014.
He was born in Lucerne County, PA, on November 20, 1918, to Sophia and George Domyon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, John, William, George Jr., Frank, Joe, and his sisters, Sally and Mary.
On June 1, 1947, Rudy married the woman of his dreams, Mary Obletilloff and lived a long, happy, and fulfilled life together. She preceded him in death July, 2014.
While in Clifton, Rudy worked in the family business, Domyon’s Hall for Hire, and was also employed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for 25 years.
Rudy was a member of SS, Cyril and Methodius Church of Clifton, the Holy Name society, and the Knights of Columbus.
Rudy had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid fisherman, coin collector, and painter. He was active in restoring the aging altar statues of his church and took delight in painting pictures for family and friends. He enjoyed dancing and took pride in his rose garden.
Rudy was a good son, brothers, uncle, husband, father, “larger than life” grandpa, and friend. Rudy was a compassionate man and his zest and zeal for life enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Rudy is survived by his daughters, Janet Graybill and Karen Wukich, nephew, George Tauras, niece, Elaine D. Arnold, and grandchildren, Kellie Graybill and Nathan D. Graybill.
