On May, 21, 2019, Sara Ellen Schmanke went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sara was born into this world April 13, 1962 at Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of James E. and Doris M. (Shearer) Noonan. She grew up in Wichita and graduated from Bishop Carroll High School. She graduated from Emporia State University and then moved to California, where she worked for Mazda Research & Development.

Sara married Dean Schmanke on September 10, 1993 at Lake Arrowhead, CA. In October 1994 she and Dean moved to Kansas where she worked for Allen Press in Lawrence until 2002.

She was born again on September 19, 1999, hearing a gospel message at a horse clinic. She served in the church as Greeter and as the Cupcake Sunday overseer for the children’s birthdays. She loved to read her Bible, worship and praise, attend conferences, retreats, and faithful church attendance. When she could no longer read for herself, she always enjoyed someone reading to her, either Scripture or the Christian classics. She also enjoyed worship music.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, by three sisters, Judy Reichenbeiger, Teri Wasinger and Christine Harrison and by three brothers, Tim, Robert and Tom Noonan.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, one sister, Mary “Cate” Pyke and her husband Tom of Baldwin City; two brothers, John Noonan and wife Mariann of Indio, CA., and Pat Noonan and wife Theresa of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and of course many brothers and sisters in Christ, friends and other relatives.

Sara’s new address is:

Her deepest desire is that all would join here there.
