Funeral services for Tim, 56, Lawrence, will be 2 pm Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
Tim was born December 11, 1960, in Lawrence, the son of Bud and Carol Bailey. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1979 and attended The University of Kansas. He remained a resident of Lawrence until his death on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
During his school years, Tim received various recognitions and honors for his scholastic achievements. He also participated in many different sports, including football, baseball, tennis, wrestling, and gymnastics. As an adult, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and biking, but his love was sailing.
Tim was in the construction industry throughout his career and was a member of the Lawrence Homebuilders Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son, Cooper, Florence, Kansas; his mother and step-father, Carol and Rolland Culp, Asheville, North Carolina; a sister, Tracy Bailey, Gladstone, Missouri; a step-brother, Brad Culp (wife Leasa), Johns Creek, Georgia; a step-sister, Gailynn Garberding (husband Terry), Phoenix, Arizona; a step-nephew and four step-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Bailey; paternal grandparents, Everett and Frances Bailey; and maternal grandparents, Howard and Helen Hargrove.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
