Timothy (Tim) Lance Easum

Tim (aka “Toad”) Easum, 57, died in the early hours of April 20, 2023, at Overland Park Hospital following a moped accident injury sustained the morning of April 11, 2023, while driving in Lawrence, Kansas.  He was born on December 5, 1965, in Topeka, Kansas and was adopted as an infant by Norman B. and Charlene Eugenia Easum.

Tim graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1984.  As a career, Tim owned and operated Toad’s Delivery Service, operating mainly in the downtown Lawrence district for over 20 years where he was relied upon by local businesses for making deliveries and running errands.  His day wasn’t complete until he made his rounds, always greeting people with a wave, a smile or fist bump.  Tim was well known and loved by both members and shoppers of the downtown business community who considered him a “local treasure,” and could frequently be found at his favorite place the Downtown Barbershop.  His work brought him great joy along with countless friends who are mourning his passing.

In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Bob) Easum.  Survivors include his sister Robin (Easum) Hurley, a niece Stephanie (Easum) Manley and nephew Ryan Easum, both of Lawrence, Kansas, a large extended family including numerous cousins, and many loyal and supportive friends who also became family to Tim.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, April 29 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street, Lawrence, Kansas.  Family and friends are welcome, and an invitation will be issued for anyone attending who would like to say a few words in his memory.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tim’s name to the Douglas County Community Foundation would be a special tribute and greatly appreciated.  Tim’s final and generous contribution was to be an organ donor.

Toad was a one-of-a-kind local legend and will be deeply missed.  Rest in peace Brother.
