Virginia Margarita Camposano Pinto, 90, passed away at Brandon Woods Memory care Unit, Lawrence, KS, on Friday, February 6, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born April 4, 1924 in Los Teques, Venezuela, one of ten children of Francisco Camposano and Asuncion Pinto de Camposano. She married Alfredo Jose Mariño in Caracas, Venezuela in 1952. He passed away in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Oscar A. Mariño and wife Sabrina, Lawrence; her grandchildren, Mirielle Mariño Plot and husband, Jorge Bittar, Tenerife, Canary Islands; Michelle and John-Francisco Mariño, Tonganoxie, KS; Michael and Giselle Mariño, Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Sarai and Avril Bittar Mariño, Tenerife, Canary Islands; one brother, Hector Camposano, Los Teques, Venezuela; sister, Silvia Malpica, Cumana, Venezuela; fifty-four nieces and nephews; and close, sisterly friend, Francisca Weeks, Lawrence.
Virginia loved bowling, dancing, and listening to Latin rhythms. Her greatest joy was to move permanently to Lawrence in 2003 to be with her son and grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials to Grace Hospice, Lawrence, KS.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 4th in Lawrence. More information will be posted in the Lawrence Journal World in March.
