He died on March 5, 2017 at his home in Lawrence, Kansas.
Chun Hung Wong was born on July 4, 1917 in Shandong, China. Wong was the owner of Royal Peking Restaurant, the first Chinese restaurant in the city of Lawrence. The restaurant became a staple of the community in its over 30 years of operation, and it was there where Wong enjoyed spending most his time, serving its customers alongside his family.
He is survived by his wife Lau Yum Wong who he married on July 26, 1976.
Other survivors in the family include his children Jim, Ursula, Diana, Connie, Judy and Doris. He also, had 10 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
