LORANCE JR. 1932 – 2010 Bernard August “June” Lorance Jr., 77, Linwood, Kan., died Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center in Tonganoxie, Kan. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born July 14, 1932, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Bernard August Lorance, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Proctor Lorance. He married Mary Frances Scheller on Feb. 12, 1955, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor. He farmed near Linwood and worked for the Basehor- Linwood School District, Lorance Construction, and Meyer Dairy. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a brother, Edward Lorance. Survivors include two sons, Mark Lorance and his wife Kathleen of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Brian Lorance of Linwood, Kan.; two daughters, Jan Noffsinger and her husband Robert of Bermuda Dunes, Calif., and Lynn Reynolds and her husband Rory of Bountiful, Utah; his brother, Jim Lorance of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Shirley Hanser of Gatewood, Mo., and Rose Marie Hart of Statesville, NC; seven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie, Kan or the Lawrence Humane Society in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
