Funeral services for Eleanor M. Remlinger, 80, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Peter Steimle and Larry Day officiating. Private interment will be later at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Remlinger died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Topeka.
Mrs. Remlinger was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed birds, children, and soap operas.
She married William F. “Bill” Remlinger on June 27, 1949, in Topeka. He died Mar. 7, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fred.
Survivors include a son, Stephen, Lawrence; two daughters, Laura Hugunin, Overland Park, and Penny Kelley, Independence, Mo.; her caregiver, Barbara Sufian, Lawrence; seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Missionary Fund, in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
Eleanor was such a sweetheart! She was always excited to shake my hand, and cheerfully sat on the 2nd row center at church. We’ve been missing her since it’s been hard for her to get out, and know that many children will be missing her for years to come. I hope that “peace beyond understanding” is found by all who seek it.
