William D. Naff

Funeral services for William Dale Naff, 78, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Southside Church of Christ, with Mark Abshier officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mr. Naff died Monday, September 6, 2010, at his home.

He was born November 3, 1931, in St. Paul, Kansas, the son of Philip Donald and Bessie Lavone (Welch) Naff. He graduated from University High School at KU in 1949.

Mr. Naff served as Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ and past member of Lions Club.

He worked for Southwestern Bell for many years retiring as a Supervisor.

He married Darlene M. Votaw on April 24, 1953.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, William N. “Buddy” Naff and wife Cynthia, Lawrence, KS and Mark A. Naff and wife Cynthia, Lawrence, KS.; a daughter, Kim E. Pendergraft and husband A. Powell, Austin, TX; two brothers, Robert E. Naff of Eudora, KS and E. Duaine Naff and wife Martha, San Bernardino, CA; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Naff was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lavone Broyles.

Friends may call Sunday noon to 8 p.m. at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
