Wilford Wayne Ousdahl

Funeral services for Wilford Wayne Ousdahl, 69, rural Lawrence will be at 10am Thursday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Ousdahl died Saturday at his home.

He was born Sept. 16, 1941 in Lawrence the son of Wilford Allen and Ethel Opal Wadkins Ousdahl.

Mr. Ousdahl attended schools in Oskaloosa and graduated from Perry-Lecompton in 1961.

After grading high school he went to work farming and for the Fire department on Jan. 7, 1967 which became the Department of Public Safety until May 8, 1973. In 1973 Mr. Ousdahl went to work operating heavy equipment moving to Abilene for 12 and back to Lawrence where he worked until his retirement. After his retirement he continued farming until his death.

He was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 309, Lawrence and the Operators and Engineers Union Local #101, Kansas City, Missouri.

He married Connie Flott, they later divorced and then married Janet Newman and later divorced.

Survivors include sons Ronald Wayne Ousdahl of Kentucky, Chad Allen Ousdahl and Michael Lee Ousdahl both of Lawrence, daughter Brandy Lynn Elston and husband Shaun of Lawrence, sister Delores Clement of Lecompton, 6 grandchildren Gwendolyne, Chelsea, Courtney, Kyler, Cameron, Sophia, and one great-grandson Andrew.

Friends may call Wednesday from 9am to 8pm at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home where the family will meet with friends from 6pm to 7pm.

Memorials may be made to the University of Kansas Hospital for student scholarships in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
