Danny Lowell “Fats” Copp

Danny “Fats” Copp was born on September 6, 1955 to Lowell “Dode” Copp and Virginia “Jitter” Copp. He left this world on Sunday, January 2, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice A. Copp, and his father, Dode. Danny is survived by his mother, Virginia, of the home, four children, Scott Copp, Kansas City, KS, Danielle Copp, Jamie Stokes, and Stephen Kelly, two grandchildren, Nick and Kayla, three brothers, Dennis, David and Doug, all of Lawrence, and a sister, Susie Kerns, of Phoenix, AZ. As well a many other children he took under his wing. As well as his extended family, cousins, and friends from coast to coast.
He worked as a contractor with Steve Jeltz and his passion for motorcycles with Ted Boyle.
Fats lived to ride his Harley. His motorcycle was the love of his life. It was truly the only thing that kept him sane. He would ride alone or with just a couple of friends. Weather didn’t matter, he rode anyway. He also enjoyed riding for charity, most recently Franklin County Independent Bikers Toys for Tots runs.
In the wind, riding to think or not to think, to take it easy and unwind, or with the throttle wide open was his life. And what a ride it was!
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 5pm to 6pm. at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
The family suggests donations to the Danny Copp Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
