Graveside services for Claris Faye Hunsinger, 77, Lawrence will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the Bean Cemetery in Little River, KS. Mrs. Hunsinger died Friday at the Presbyterian Manor. She was born July 18, 1933 in Little River the daughter of Ray and Ula Brooks Buchanan.
Mrs. Hunsinger graduated Little River High School in 1951. She later attended Brown Mackie Business College in Salina. She was a mother/homemaker and worked at H&R Block for many years as a tax preparer.
She was a member of Women’s Bible Study Fellowship and completed the course of study in 1998.
She married Laurel G. Hunsinger on Oct. 17, 1953 in Little River, he survives of the home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Guy R. Buchanan, sisters Neva G. German, Carol M. Staub, Elva M. Connery, Louise K. Larson, and Ruth M. Riley.
Other survivors include sons Terry L. Hunsinger of Olathe, KS, Keith L. Hunsinger of Lawrence, Shane P. Hunsinger of Lawrence, daughters Cyndi K. Kempke of Lewisville, TX, and Lorri J. Hoelsher of Baldwin City, brother Bruce L. Buchanan of Little River, sister Betty L. Byard of Salina, KS, and ten grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

As you lay your Wife, Mother, & Grandmother to rest, may it comfort you to know that she is in a much better place where there is no sadness, no suffering,and no pain.You knew you wouldn’t have her forever, but rejoice in God’s promise that you will see her again. I think of all of you so often as I am back living in Hutchinson and almost every day I drive past the “little” house on Severance St. where you Laurel, and Claris started your married life. Remember how cute it was then, it still is. Look back at all the moves and places your life together has taken you and what a blessing each life event you shared together was. As you gather tomorrow, celebrate her life and all she gave to each one of you. Carry her in your heart thru the rest of life’s walk, and take comfort in the fact that so many others are sharing in your loss, and you may continue to cling to them in the future for comfort, we are all only a heart beat away.
When we all get to Heaven, what a glorius day that will be!

Rita and I neither one will be able to attend the service on Tuesday, as it looks now. We are so sorry not to be able to be with you in Little River. We both have fond memories of Claris’s kindness toward us. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We will be with you in spirit on Tuesday.
