Messages & Condolences

From Jan Rishel Bitikofer...

Nel was such a wonderful lady. She was exactly what I always pictured as a “pastor’s wife”…. with a sense of humor and very warm personality. I have good memories of Nel and Calvin as they pastored the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, KS. May the family have great memories of the delightful woman that she was.

From Dave and the Murray Family...

Growing up I spent many hours at the Hartman household and Nel was always there to keep and even keel on the activities of several boys. So many fond memories !! Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with you.

From Roy and Denise Golladay...

To the Hartman family: We were saddened to hear the news of Nellie Hartman’s passing. But we are also encouraged by the promise we have as Christians, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” May God comfort you and fill you with his peace during this time.

From Wanda Hardinger...

My sympathy goes out to you, Calvin, and your family. Nel painted with me for some time while I was giving lessons and I have lots of good memories of her in the Palette Pals. She has been missed for a long time. Sincerely, Wanda Hardinger

Calvin, our condolences to you and your family. It was such an honor to know Nell and be a part of her care last year. She was in good hands then because we know you cared for her so well, and we know she is in good Hands now. We grieve with you and want to reassure you that you are in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
