Carma G. Gideon

Graveside services for Carma G. Gideon, 44, Lawrence, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lawrence.

Ms. Gideon died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at her home.

She was born May 11, 1966, in Stockton, California, the daughter of Oliver Edmound Gideon Jr. and Connie Sue McMillin. She attended high school at Lawrence High. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister, and was loved by many.

Carma was a homemaker. She enjoyed nature, flowers, and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Steven Oliver Desch, Topeka; mother, Connie Sue McMillin, Lawrence; brother, William Gideon, Ozawkie; sisters, Diana Gideon, Pomona, Catherine Prochnow, Pomona, and Tammy Gideon, Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Carma Gideon Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
