V. Annette Pfunder

Memorial services for V. Annette Pfunder, 87, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan., with Pastor David Emberson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan.

Mrs. Pfunder died Monday, June 20, 2011, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Baldwin City.

She was born July 19, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Marvin Claude and Dortha Zook Nowland. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1941.

Mrs. Pfunder lived and worked in Kansas City, Kan. until 1951, in Dodge City until 1956, in Great Bend until 1982, and in Lawrence until 2009. She was a member of Stony Point Christian Church, and enjoyed golf and bowling.

She married Kenneth S. Pfunder on Jan. 19, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., and together they shared 61 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry D. Pfunder in 1993, and a brother, Forrest Wiley Nowland.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Denney and husband Jim, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Brian Denney and wife Heather, Elisa Hill and husband Andrew, Carrie McKee, and Carolyn Turner; and six great grandchildren, Hanna Denney, A.J. Hill, Raven McKee, and Tori, Sienna, and Sierra Turner.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stony Point Christian Church, or Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation, & Hospice Care, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
