Funeral services for Doris Opal Churchbaugh, 99, Overland Park, KS formerly of Baldwin City will be 11am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, KS.
Mrs. Churchbaugh died Friday, August 05, 2011 at Delmar Gardens in Overland Park.
She was born February 10, 1912 in Rural Franklin County, KS, the daughter of Charles Albert and Nellie Pearl Allen Myers.
Mrs. Churchbaugh moved to Douglas County in 1934, to Baldwin City in 1993 and spent the past few years at Delmar Gardens in Overland Park. She and her husband farmed in Southern Douglas County for 63 years. She drove a school bus for Willow Springs School from 1958 to 1962. Mrs. Churchbaugh was a member of Palmyra FCE, Extinction, (Family and Community Education), and the Centropolis Christian Church.
She married Leslie Theodore Churchbaugh, they were married for 63 years, he preceded her in death on Apr. 9, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter Vera Flora, her parents, and 5 brothers.
Survivors include a sister Adeline Watts and husband Norman of Centropolis, grandchildren Debbie Rogers, Brenda Sweeney, and Larry Flora, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday noon to 8pm. The family will receive friends Wednesday 10am to service time at the Funeral Home.
