Graveside service for Richard “Mac” William McCasland, 88, Lawrence will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Memorial Park Cemetery. He died August 30, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 2, 1922 in Desare, Arkansas the son of Jess and Dorothy (Mosier) McCasland.
Mac worked in the Maintenance Department at the University of Kansas for 18 years. He retired in 1981.
He was a ship builder in California during WWII.
He married Rachael Martin. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include step-son, Mike Flanagan, Gassville, Arkansas and one step-daughter, Janet Beck, Quenemo, Kansas.
