Francis “Frank” Wilson Hursh of Baldwin City, Kansas died December 8, 2011.
He was born November 13, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank Everett Hursh and Georgeann Dewey Hursh.
He graduated from Wyandotte High School, attended Baker University and graduated from the University of Kansas and Southern Methodist University.
After leaving the Methodist ministry he finally went to work and retired from the San Jose Police Department as an expert latent fingerprint examiner. After retirement he spent several years in Hawaii before moving to Baldwin City. His fondest memory was his three trips to China.
He is survived by his sister Morilla Ann Fothergill of the home, five nephews and nieces and their families, and a number of cousins.
His ashes will be returned to Osceola, Missouri where he fondly spent the summers of his childhood.
Papa Frank,
You played such a significant role in my childhood and thinking of you brings back many fond memories.
Thank you so much for being the sweet, gentle, and caring man that you were to me and the family.
You are loved and will be missed.

I may have only met you briefly when I was young, Papa Frank yet your sweetness and kindness to all of us will remain in my memory and my heart forever. Both my sister, Candice and I, are hugging you so tight just like the last hug you gave us the last time we saw you in Cebu. Until we meet again.
May you rest in peace Papa Frank. You have been a big part of our lives (the Q’s) and we owe you a great deal of gratitude. I and I’m sure the Quinanola family are very grateful to have been adopted by you and to be taken in as your own family. For that we are very grateful.

No matter how far and distant you were from us D’Q,s but you were always in my prayers (daily).

I cannot remember the last time i saw you…knowing that you are no longer here with us in this world will be difficult but we know you are in a better place. Papa Frank, you had been a great inspiration to me,my daughters and the Quinanola clan. We have some very fond memories of you. You were always so generous and kind to us and you embraced us as your own family. I was always known at work as your sister in law first, then Ruvi.
