Norma McCanles Kampschroeder

Memorial services for Norma McCanles Kampschroeder, 100, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Kampschroeder died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born June 29, 1911, in Kansas City, MO., the daughter of Oswald Leo and Lulu Mae Cohoe Winters. Norma attended school in Valley Falls. She then attended business college in Lawrence for two years. Norma worked for the Telephone Company and the Union Pacific Railroad during the War. After the war for a brief time she worked as a traffic manager for Bowersock Mills and Power Company. She then worked for Sanders Motor Company for forty years. Norma was a founding member of the Lawrence Chapter of American Business Women’s Association, and the Credit Women’s Breakfast Club. She sang with the Lawrence Sweet Adelines. She also served on the Board of the Lawrence Humane Society. She enjoyed dancing with her husbands, and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Norma married Joe McCanles in the 1930’s. He died July 1979. She later married Bob Kampschroeder October, 1980. He died in September, 1990.
Survivors include her daughter Sherry Holmes and husband Deane; her grandson, Deane Holmes Jr.; great grandson, Adam Holmes; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

i dont work with her but ill see her with her family or friends walking out the front door she always walks out side with a big smile and set and talks to me while i wait for the bus,
she used to come and eat with us when she had a friend,
she enters a room a rise of sunshine
