Uncle Delmar was a happy man. He was always kind to me and quick with a joke.
His slow eating was legendary. My mom used to tell the story of when Uncle Delmar came to live with them when she was a girl. She said they would finish washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen and Uncle Delmar would still be at the table still eating his dinner.

This is Marc Mills, Leo and Mary Bellinger’s grand son.
The Mills family is very sorry to hear of Delmar’s passing. We just heard he had moved to the VA and Dad wanted me to try getting ahold of Delmar.
We could all learn a lot of Delmar Barland! I knew Delmar for 50 years…since I was a little kid. Delmar always had a smile and something positive to say to everyone.
He always had a great attitude and there wasn’t much that would slow him down.
A great man has passed. It was a real honor to have known him and been his friend.
