Inurnment with military honors by Dorsey-Liberty Post #14 of the American Legion for William R. “Bill” Wilson, 67, Lawrence will be at 10 am, Monday, September 10, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center, Topeka.
He was born April 17, 1945 in Lawrence, the son of Robert J. and Juanita M. Harman Wilson.
Mr. Wilson served as a US Marine enlisting on May 9, 1966, and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was discharged on May 16, 1971.
He was a sign painter working at Art & Sign and Star Sign and had also worked as a custodian for the Lawrence School District and delivered papers for the Lawrence Journal World until his health failed.
He married Carolyn Mae Dietz on Sept. 5, 1964 in Edwardsville, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, John Wilson and a daughter, Novita Wilson both of Lawrence, a brother Robert Wilson of Kimberling City, MO, a sister, Patty Husted of Lawrence and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 3:30pm. at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana, Lawrence, KS 66044.

I am very sorry to read about Billy, I always remember him as a fun guy. Had not seen him for a long time.. but I am sure he had not changed… May the lord help you all through this sad time… Thinking of all of you.
