Messages & Condolences

From Julie Fitzgerald...

Dad,
Thank you for being not only an amazing dad and grandpa, but an awesome friend as well! I will miss your smile and your ornery ways! The relationship and love you shared with Gary, Emily, Matt and myself will forever fill my heart with joy! So many memories that we will cherish forever. My heart is broken and I feel as though a piece of me has died. The Good News is, it’s NOT goodbye forever! We WILL be together again!

I love you with all my heart!

Forever your little girl,
Julie

I am so very sorry for your loss. I ‘ve known Larry sense 1981 from Herff Jones.
I will miss Larry deeply as I’m sure anyone who met him will also.

From Steve Carter...

We were very saddened to hear of the loss of Larry. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. He was a great guy and I really looked up to him. I enjoyed looking through hot rod magazines and talking with him about cars and different bands especially ACDC. Like everyone else that got to know Larry-I am really going to miss him.

From Maria...

My deepest sympathy for your loss. My thoughts and prayers for you and yours. Larry was such a great man. He was always happy and sure could make me laugh. When he worked at Herff Jones, we did daily crossword puzzles together at our ‘dinner’ table in the press room, yes, funny. When we first started doing the puzzles, we would cheat and add boxes to fit words we could think of because we didn’t know the answer. I sure will miss him, as we all will.

From Don Shawn...

I was working at herff jones when Larry was hired. I worked there with him until I transfered to Marceline, Missouri in 1976. I made it a point , when I went back to kansas city for a visit, to stop by his press and visit. He was one of our best pressmen for many years. Larry I enjoyed our friendship all these years and I know you will be sorely missed. I can only say, dear friend, keep the gates guarded until we meet again. Rest in peace. Your friend Don

From David Crawford...

Larry was a good friend to me, always willing to help a guy in need. He helped me build a garage and helped me finish a room I added on. We had great times on the annual Herff Jones fishing trips. I used to go watch him race (no. 47).

I haven’t seen Larry physically in years but kept track of him on Facebook and through mutual friends. I cannot begin to express my sorrow that his wife and children now mourn his loss. All I can say is that we all move on. He has a new job now and like everything else he’s ever done, he’ll excel at it.
