Graveside services for Warren N. Facklam, 79, Winchester, formerly of Lawrence, will be at 10 am Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Pastor John Tweed officiating. Mr. Facklam died Monday, Apr. 28, 2014, in Winchester.
He was born July 12, 1934, in Lawrence, the son of Virgil N. and Anna Vera Oliver Facklam. He attended schools in Lawrence, and had worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Stokely-Van Camp, and most recently with the City of Lawrence, where he was a heavy equipment operator for the street department from 1960 until retiring in 1994. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and woodworker.
He married Opal Faye Worden on Oct. 2, 1956, in Lawrence. She preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2012. Survivors include a step son, Raymond House and wife Wanda, Pocatello, Idaho; two sisters, Elsie Wheeler, Garnett, and Rosemary Morton, Gardner; three step grandchildren, Amy Schoen (Michael), Beverly Taylor (Donald), and Raymond House Jr. (Amber); and four great grandchildren.
