Messages & Condolences

From Betty Purcell...

I am so sorry for the loss of a friend like Betty. She was always upbeat. Her faith in God got her through her illness. I will miss her.

From Mary Demeritt Gordon...

I was very saddened and shocked to read of Betty’s death. The last time I talked to her at LMH she indicated that she was doing better.

Her first words to me–every time I saw her–were “I loved your mother”. My mother was Betty’s elementary grade school teacher for all eight years at Washington Creek School.

Betty’s positive attitude and ready smile will always be remembered.

With deepest sympathy,
Mary Demeritt Gordon

Betty was such a wonderful, thoughtful person and brought such happiness every time you would see her. I still have the lovely ornaments she would make for the KU Alumni Association staff and I hang them on my tree every year. Thoughts and prayers to her friends and family at this difficult time.
