Memorial services for Barbara Rae ‘Bobbie’ Stauffer, 42, Lawrence, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Miss Stauffer passed away Aug. 12, 2014, at her home.
She was born April 16, 1972, in Lawrence, the daughter of Ronald Joe Stauffer and Sarah Jene Harrell Stauffer Ray Favreau.
She graduated from Lawrence High School and attended the University of Kansas and Johnson County Community College. She moved to Phoenix, AZ, and lived there for 14 years, returning to Lawrence in 2008.
Bobbie started working at the age of 13, and has been an internet recruiter for the past 15 years. She was an avid KU sports fan, enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, collecting frog decorations, and loved her 2 pug dogs Rosy and Lola.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Jene Harrell Stauffer Ray Favreau, father Ronald Joe Stauffer, stepfather Stan Ray, and stepfather David Favreau; 3 uncles, Tex Harrell, Larry Harrell, and Dennis Stauffer; and 2 aunts, Linda Stauffer and Debbie Fuston. She was blessed with many cousins and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Oncology, sent in care of the funeral home.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. It seems so unfair that death would have the power to take away someone you love. And when it happens, the thought of never being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your loved one can be most difficult to bear. The pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved one is up in heaven, as if God doesn’t care about our pain. Only God’s (Psalms 83:18) Kingdom can bring peace, happiness, perfect health, and everlasting life -Matthew 6:9, 10 . I’m extraordinarily devastated. I just found out today that Barb passed away. I had no idea she was even sick. I was Barb’s boyfriend and we were together from 1998 to 2004 in Arizona. My heart is absolutely shattered. She was my first love. I was madly in love with her. And I always will be. I feel like a piece of me went with her. This world lost such an amazing woman. I just can’t believe it. I’ll see you soon Barb…

Ron,Sarah, and family,
I am so saddened to hear the news of your daughter. My thoughts and sympathy are with you at this difficult time.
Words cannot express our heartfelt sympathy and feelings over the loss of Barb. It is very sad to lose a daughter or son before we as parents go. Barb is gone but she will not be forgotton. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
I find myself devastated at this news, but I know Barb is at peace now. I met Bobbie when she contacted me for an IT role in 2010. When we first met I knew she was one of a kind lady and we’ve been friends ever since. She so easily made friends – because that was the beautiful spirit she was.
I only briefly enjoyed her charm, wit, beauty, and amazing attitude, but what she left me with was more than anybody can ever ask for – true friendship. She was such a vivacious and venerable soul. I am so glad to have been friends with Bobbie, and I will miss her dearly.
Hugs, love, and prayers to her family and friends. My deepest condolences to all. God Bless
