Funeral services for Carol Joyce Belles, 82, Lawrence, will be 2 pm Monday November 24, 2014, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Belles died Tuesday November 18, 2014, at Medicalodges Eudora.
She was born May 7, 1932, in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Alvin E. and Lillie M. Smith Bond. She graduated from Eudora High School. Carol was a Girl Scout growing up and later became a Scout Leader.
Carol married Howard L. Belles in Baldwin City on June 24, 1950, he preceded her in death on August 27, 2009.
Survivors include two sons Dan “Butch” and wife Leslie Belles, Eudora, and Doug and Missy Belles, Lawrence; daughter Debbie and husband George Mudrock, Lawrence; one sister Edna M. Holmes, Eudora; four grandchildren Jessica Bowling, Justin Mudrock, Shauna Armold, Kyle Belles; two great grandchildren Hailey Perry, Anna-Lexi Mudrock.
She is preceded in death by her husband, brother Alvin Bond Jr., sisters Gladys Blaylock, Alvena Tuggle, and Leola Murray.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm Sunday where the family will receive them from 6-7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
So sorry to hear, but happy that Carol will be rejoining Howard in Heaven. She was a sweet and funny lady! I loved her laugh, which in my memories… She was always saying funny things and laughing. She will be missed greatly! Sending thoughts and prayers to your family through this very sad and difficult time.
