Memorial service for Gerald Allan Easum, 65, Lawrence will be 11 am. Monday, June 8, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Friday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1949 in Lawrence the son of Allan Carlisle Easum, Jr. and Dorothy Louise McCall Easum.
Gerald graduated Perry High School in 1967 and attended the University of Kansas. He worked for Hamm Construction as a surveyor and joined the family business at Ace Steering & Brake Service in 1979. He retired in 2013.
He was a member of the Heart of America German Shorthaired Pointer Club, Quail Unlimited and a former member of Douglas County Trail Riders. Gerald participated in and served as a field trial judge for numerous AKC field trial events throughout the midwest. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. Gerald liked to play cards and chess with family and friends.
Gerald married Linda Davis on Sept. 6, 1969, they later divorced but continued a very close friendship.
Survivors include daughters Stacy Potter and Erin Easum both of Perry, brother Danny and wife Sue Easum of Perry, grandchildren Allison Potter of Lawrence and Dylan Potter of Perry, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 7th. from 2 to 4 pm. at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Easum Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
